Designer- Le Corbusier, P. Jeanneret
Designed for Le Corbusier’s Capitol Complex building in Chandigarh, India, this design armchair is a reinterpretation by Cassina as a tribute to Pierre Jeanneret, a key figure in building the city. The padding that surrounds the armrests and the generous seat and backrest cushions convey the idea of on-the-spot comfort as well as elegance and simplicity. The upside-down “V” supports, connecting crossbars and external joints between the armrests and backrest are all in exposed wood. In the classic version, in teak, or in oak.
