Moroso

Saula Marina-sofa

Curve: the loveliest distance between two points (Mae West)

Mariscal’s visual heritage is drawn from the world of comic books, which he freely admits to drawing inspiration from. Alessandra, Eulalia Perez, Saula Marina, seem to have stepped out of the pages of some underground comic, with which they share the same irony, bordering on sarcasm, and a playful approach to contemporary life. Anticonformist, libertarian, post-modern: Mariscal designs the storyboard for a tale told from the perspective of a teenager, where experience always comes before meaning. The desire for roundness, overlapping and amorous couplings of bodies and forms, release the pieces from the normal passing of time into another place, a world which is also our own.

Element in stress-resistant polyurethane foam in varied densities and polyester fiber on wood frame. Feet in natural beech or black lacquered screwed to the frame.

The other face of modernity

The pleasure of sophisticated, smart formality in an architectural style inspired by 1950s Californian modernism. A range which includes three sofas, two armchairs and a chair with prismatic forms and shapes in a never-ending interplay of solids and voids. The materials used directly reference natural elements and their changeability in stark contrast with modern life. Visually harmonious, the collection indirectly revives the utopian vision of the period. Silver Lake is the name of a particular neighbourhood in downtown Los Angeles, which is renowned for homes designed by some of the great names in modernist architecture.
